Where can I find the full text of a journal reference?

If you have a specific journal reference, you need find out whether the journal is available online. 

Search for the title of the journal in our Electronic Journals list to see if we have the full text.

If you really must Google, use Scholar!

To make the best use of Google, we recommend the Scholar search. This limits results to higher quality resources.

Want to check if the Library can provide full text? Click Settings and Library links. Search for University of Ulster and save your preferences.  That way you will see links to full-text within our e-journal collection in your search results.

What is a journal reference ?

This is a typical journal reference:

James, C., 1993.  What is applied linguistics?.  International journal of applied linguistics, 3 ( 1), 17-32

This article was written by Carl James (the author) and is about applied linguistics (the article title).  You can find it in the 1993 volume of the journal called International journal of applied linguistics.  The volume number is 3 and the article begins at page 17 in part 1.

If you are undertaking extended research or a writing your dissertation, you may need information which is not available from usual Ulster sources.
