RefWorks: Introduction

Before you use RefWorks, you should be familiar with referencing.  Check with your lecturer if you are unsure about which style to use.   The following guides give more information.  RefWorks contains the University versions of Harvard.

RefWorks provides excellent support material including videos, pdf guides and online guides. These are listed below.

RefWorks is a reference management tool that enables you to:

• build up a collection of references imported from the Library Catalogue, databases and other resources.
• store and organise references and pdfs into folders.
• add citations into the text of word documents.
• create reference lists in a chosen referencing style.

RefWorks can be accessed by all Ulster University staff and students both on and off-campus.

• Go to http://refworks.proquest.com/ and select Use login from my institution. 
  
   
• Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the registration form.
  
   
• Start using RefWorks!
