Harvard Style of Citing References


If there are two authors, the surnames of both should be given


 

In text:

e.g.

Balmer and Swisher (2013) illustrated methods of architectural composition …

or, if the authors names are not directly mentioned in the text:

e.g.

It has been proposed (Balmer and Swisher, 2013) that ...


In your list of references the standard rule applies - giving both authors:

Author's Surname(s), INITIALS. (Year of Publication) Title. Edition (if needed). Place of Publication: Publisher.

e.g.

Golightley, M. and Goemans, R. (2017) Social work and mental health. 6th ed. London: Learning Matters.

Child, J., Faulkner, D. and Tallman, S. (2012) Cooperative strategy. Oxford: Oxford University Press.
