There is an advanced search feature on TRIP, whereby you can search by PICO
On the main task bar, select PICO rather than search and populate the search fields with your preferred search
Your population is the relevant group of people related to your clinical problem e.g. children, diabetics etc.
The intervention is the management strategy, exposure,treatment or diagnostic test that you want to find out about in relation t
o the clinical problem e.g. drug treatment, surgery, diet, being overweight, blood test, blood test etc.
The comparator is an alternative or control strategy, exposure or test for comparison with the one you are interested in
The outcome shows what you are most concerned about happening, or not happening e.g. reduced morality etc.
A PICO search does not support the usual searching tools such as wildcards, phrase searching etc.
