Finding Information

How many books can I borrow?

  • Students can borrow 12 two month loans; 4 two week loans; 4 two day loans.
  • Staff and researchers can borrow 25 two month loans; 4 two week loans; 4 two day loans. 

Two month and two week loan items can be renewed twice.

 Contact your campus library's Information Point for more information about borrowing, renewing and fines for late returns.

Eduroam

Eduroam (Educational Roaming), is a single, secure, wireless service available at a number of participating institutions worldwide, including Ulster University and enables wireless access on all Ulster campuses. When you then visit another participating institution, you can use your Ulster credentials to connect to the internet via their eduroam service. Sage Research Methods

Sage Research Methods is a database that supports researchers at all levels by providing material and tools to guide users through every step of the research process. This includes a comprehensive methods library with 1000+ books, reference works, journal articles & instructional video on topics such as;  the research question, carrying out a literature review, selecting research methods, data collection and analysis, writing up and much more.

Referencing and Refworks

RefWorks is a web-based bibliographic management system that enables you to collect, organise and store references from a variety of sources and then to create a bibliography or reference list in your document. Adding a Bibliographical Note

Doctoral College Guidance on adding a Bibliographical Note,

…the biographical note gives the reader key information about the author. Most biographical notes are short. Its length can vary, but most often it has a limit of 100-150 words.

Although there is no recipe for writing the biographical notes, some elements that are expressed in them are.

  • Name, perhaps qualifications
  • Current institutional affiliation
  • Your doctoral research and your topic, broader research interests.
  • Your previous professional history if relevant.
  • Publications, if there is more than one, list the best.
