Non-Parliamentary Publications

The term Non-Parliamentary Publications is used to describe official publications which are not issued as part of the Parliamentary process.  Central government in the UK is made up of nearly 400 organisations, each of which continually publishes information to the web about who they are and what they are doing.  The Library acquires selected non-Parliamentary publications and treats them as books.  The following links can be used to trace non-Parliamentary (and some parliamentary) official publications online. 

National Archives

The National Archives is a government department and an executive agency of the Ministry of Justice. It incorporates the Office of Public Sector Information (OPSI) and Her Majesty's Stationery Office (HMSO). As the government's national archive for England, Wales and the United Kingdom, it holds over 1,000 years of the nation's records and is responsible for the development of policy for information management and official publishing.

Library holdings

Holdings of indexes and catalogues of parliamentary and non-parliamentary publications can be found at shelfmark Z2009 in Coleraine and Magee libraries and in the Quick Reference section at Belfast.  These include:
