Information Skills Tutorial: Referencing

Referencing - what's in it for you?

Be warned - accurate referencing takes time - but it's worth it. Proper referencing acknowledges all your sources, avoids plagiarism,  and you won't lose any of the marks allocated to presentation and style.

Here's what other students have said:

" Make sure you leave enough time to check and do your references - it takes waaay longer than you think"

"Note down the full source of any quotes as you do them. You'll have problems finding them later if you don't"

"Be organized - keep all your notes/print outs together in a folder - preferably with file dividers and the section they're for written on it or else you'll just end up with The Desk Of Doom".
