Statistics: Finding Books

Where can I find print and e-books?

Use the Library Catalogue to search for books and ebooks.

To limit your search to ebooks only, use the ebooks filter on the left hand side of the results page

If you want to do a specific search for publications by an organisation or body, use the  to do a 'More Options' search and look for the name of the organisation in the AUTHOR search box. Annual reports of organisations are often a useful source of statistics. They can also be found using a TITLE search (enter ‘annual report’ followed by the name of the organisation.

Looking for a reading list?

Statistical information may appear as part of many reading lists.

However, why not search for lists using keywords such as research methods, statistics, quantitative, qualitative or survey to see lists which may contain relevant books or resources.

Document Delivery

If the item you want is not available from Ulster sources,  the Library's Document Delivery service can request material from the British Library and elsewhere.

You may request books and articles using the Online Request Form

Article requests will usually be sent to you electronically for download so you must REGISTER for British Library's On Demand service prior to requesting and read the guidance on Secure Electronic Delivery (SED). Book requests will be supplied as loans.

There is no charge for either service, although weekly limits may apply.

Source of statistics not known?

When you do not know which publication contains the statistics you require, look up the topic using a guide to statistics. If a suitable publication is found, look for it using the Library catalogue. A list of some guides to print-based statistics is provided  below.
