Finding print history books in the library

From the Library Web site you will get quick access to the British Library, Library Hub Discover (previously COPAC) and other academic library catalogues.
Use these catalogues to discover details of books which are not available in Ulster University, and check which libraries hold them or request items via our Document Delivery service. Public libraries are a good source of material for local history, visit Libraries NI.
Coleraine
The main collections of History books are to be found in Reading Room 1.
Books with an 8 prefix are pamphlets and books with an 0 prefix are oversize. The pamphlets are shelved at the end of each individual sequence, e.g. 8DA pamphlets are to be found at the end of the DA books. Oversize books (e.g. O DA) are shelved at the very end of the book sequence (in Reading Room 2).
Magee
If you wish to borrow from the Irish Collection, get details from the Catalogue and give them to Information Desk staff, and they will retrieve the books. This is done twice daily.

Most of the relevant book stock for History is in the 900s. However other relevant material such as Political science is shelved in the 320s and Public administration and Military science can be found in the 350s.

Searching for Theses
It is possible to search for Ulster University theses. Search by keywords and then choose "Thesis" from the format list on the left hand menu.
