The John Hume Collection

The Collection comprises the miscellaneous papers, documents and publications from John Hume's SDLP constituency office in Derry - Londonderry.

Included in the Collection are books, diaries, periodicals, correspondence, speeches, press-cuttings, press releases, reports, photographs, SDLP publicity material, manuscripts, typescripts, government papers, post-cards and greetings cards.

The topics covered by the Collection reflect the work of a busy MP and MEP; these include the peace process, housing, justice system, planning, health, social security, Europe, education, the Irish language, business, industry and agriculture.
