Built Environment: Theses & Dissertations

Welcome

Finding Dissertations in the Libray

Doctoral dissertations in print up to 2017 are available on request from the Information Point.  They are strictly for Use in the Library Only but may be photocopied in accordance with copyright regulations. From 2017 onwards they are available online via the University's PURE website.

EtHOS: e-theses on line service

The British Library's EThoS service provides abstract records for over 500,000 UK doctoral dissertations. Registration is free. Once registered, you can get full-text access to approximately half of these by limiting the keyword search to those theses 'available for immediate download'. Many records also have the symbol indicating that they are freely available from the relevant University's repository. There is a charge for a thesis the first time it is downloaded.

The British Library have experienced a cyber attack which has affected the EThOS service. The service is not currently working and we have no date as to when it will be running again.
