The required elements for the reference are:

Corporate author/organisation. (Year of publication) Standard number and full title of standard. Place of publication: Publisher.

Example of the full reference at the end of your assignment:

British Standards Institution. (2016) BS EN 285:2015 Sterilization. Steam sterilizers. Large sterilizers. London: British Standards Institution. 

In-text citation 

Example 1 - where the author's name occurs naturally in the sentence

As documented by the British Standards Institution (2016), large steam sterilisers...

Example 2 - where the author's name does not occur naturally in the sentence

As stated in standard BS EN 285:2015, large steam sterilisers... (British Standards Institution 2016).

Other points to note

Points to note: 

  • Place a full stop after the Corporate author name.
  • Note the three parts which make up the full title; place a full stop at the end of each part of the full title:

          BS EN 285:2015 Sterilization.

           Steam sterilization.

           Large sterilizers.
