Life and Health Sciences Harvard Referencing Guidelines

Reusing images, tables, maps, pictures, images, photographs etc.

If you reproduce or reuse any table, diagram, chart, graph, map, picture, image, illustration, photograph, screenshot etc. from a printed, online or cinematic source you should provide, underneath, a figure or table number and a caption (brief description), along with an in-text citation acknowledging its source.

Example 1:

In-text citation

In Figure 1 below, you can see...(Boyd and Bee 2015, p.186).

Figure 1: Neo-Piagetian matrix task (Boyd and Bee 2015, p.186).

Example 2:

In-text citation

As indicated in Table 1 below...(Masser and Campbell 2020, p.128).

Example 3:

In-text citation:

If you reuse a table etc. but adapt it for your piece of work, you must state this.

As indicated in Table 2, Alper Records...(Masser and Campbell 2020, p.128).

In-text citation:

Other sources which may be useful
